NCT ID NCT03086096

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This registry followed 152 patients with colorectal cancer that had spread mainly to the liver. Doctors used tiny beads called LifePearl Microspheres loaded with the chemotherapy drug irinotecan, delivered directly to the liver's blood supply. The goal was to see how and when this treatment is used in real-world practice, and to track safety and survival.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

LifePearl Microspheres loaded with Irinotecan

What this could lead to

If the results are positive, this could help doctors better understand when and how to use this liver-directed treatment for colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver.

What could go wrong

This is an observational registry, not a controlled trial, so it cannot prove the treatment works better than other options. Results may vary widely between patients.
