Timing breast milk feeds may boost preterm baby sleep

NCT ID NCT07533578

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether giving preterm babies their mother's breast milk at the same time of day it was expressed (like night milk at night) helps them sleep better and develop a healthy day-night rhythm. About 200 preterm infants will be split into two groups: one gets milk matched to the time it was expressed, the other gets milk without timing rules. The goal is to see if this simple change improves sleep and development with no added medication.
