New hope for veterans: therapy tackles the double burden of pain and mental illness
NCT ID NCT04118283
Summary
This study tested whether a talk therapy program for chronic pain is practical and helpful for veterans who also have serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Researchers worked with 47 veterans to see if they could successfully participate in the therapy and if it improved their pain, daily functioning, and quality of life. The goal was to gather information to design a larger future study.
