Scientists hunt for clues to better diagnose triggered hives

NCT ID NCT07359430

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to find biological markers (biomarkers) that can help diagnose and monitor chronic induced urticaria (CIndU), a condition where specific triggers like cold or pressure cause itchy hives or swelling. Researchers will compare 40 participants—including people with CIndU, those with chronic spontaneous urticaria (no clear trigger), and healthy volunteers—using skin biopsies, blood tests, and imaging. The goal is to improve diagnosis and treatment monitoring beyond current methods that rely mainly on patient history and provocation tests.
