Could a persistent cough leave lasting scars on the lungs?
NCT ID NCT07659860
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study investigates whether chronic cough lasting more than a year can injure and remodel the lower airways. Researchers will use chest CT scans and bronchoscopy to look for signs of airway damage and inflammation in adults with refractory chronic cough. The goal is to understand if the cough itself causes structural changes in the lungs.
