New study aims to unravel swallowing mysteries in reflux patients

NCT ID NCT07365046

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will use a special test called high-resolution manometry with impedance to closely examine how the throat and esophagus work during swallowing in 160 adults with swallowing difficulties or suspected extraesophageal reflux. Participants will also undergo 24-hour pH monitoring to measure acid exposure. The goal is to better understand swallowing problems and reflux, not to test a new treatment.
