Scientists search Children's DNA for clues to transplant complications

NCT ID NCT07194057

Summary

This study aims to understand why some children develop serious complications after liver or kidney transplants by analyzing their genetic material and chemical marks on their DNA. Researchers will collect medical history and perform genetic tests on samples already taken during routine care from 200 children aged 6 months to 18 years who have received transplants. The goal is to find patterns that might help predict problems like organ rejection, infections, or treatment side effects before they become serious.
