First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at 99 children aged 3-7 who had their tonsils or adenoids removed. Researchers wanted to see if anxiety in the child or parent before surgery affected how agitated or painful the child was after waking up. They measured agitation using a standard scale in the recovery room. The goal was to better understand what factors might lead to a rougher recovery.
