Gum vs. cigarettes: can chewing help you quit?
NCT ID NCT07240545
Summary
This study is testing whether chewing xylitol gum can help daily smokers in Hong Kong quit or cut down on cigarettes. Researchers will compare two groups: one gets gum plus text message reminders for 12 weeks, while the other gets only brief quitting advice. The main goal is to see if people using the gum are smoke-free after 6 months, verified by breath and saliva tests.
