NCT ID NCT06816589
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether ChatGPT can act as a job coach for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Thirty motivated adults aged 18-45 will use ChatGPT to build resumes, practice interviews, and discuss workplace social skills over one week. Researchers will measure changes in job interview performance and social confidence. If successful, this could offer a free, flexible tool to help autistic individuals navigate the job market.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ChatGPT-based job coaching
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a low-cost, accessible tool to help adults with autism improve job interview skills and workplace social interactions.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The AI coach may not fully replace human job coaching or address complex social situations.
