Could a simple ultrasound replace costly scans for liver cancer patients?
NCT ID NCT06261814
First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a special ultrasound done during a liver cancer treatment (called TACE) can show right away if the treatment is working, instead of waiting 1-2 months for an MRI or CT scan. About 266 adults scheduled for TACE will receive an ultrasound with a contrast agent to see if it can detect leftover tumor blood flow. If successful, this could give doctors faster and cheaper feedback on how well the treatment is working.
