Scientists uncover genetic clues to heart health
NCT ID NCT03109067
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at how a small difference in a gene called CETP affects the way 'good' cholesterol (HDL) works in the body. Researchers compared two groups of healthy men—those with one version of the gene versus another—to see how well their HDL could remove cholesterol from cells after a meal. The goal was to better understand why some people may have better heart protection than others.
