First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests a small device worn on the ear that sends gentle pulses to a nerve, aiming to improve thinking and memory in people with vascular dementia or mild cognitive impairment. Twenty-four adults aged 55 to 89 will use the device at home for 30 minutes each day over four weeks. Researchers will compare the active device to a fake (sham) device to see if it safely helps brain function.
