New hope for veterans: can talk therapy ease chronic pain without more pills?
NCT ID NCT06758414
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific type of talk therapy, called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), can help veterans who have both serious mental illness and chronic back pain. Researchers will compare the therapy to a general health education program in 190 veterans. The main goal is to see if the therapy reduces how much pain interferes with daily life and improves overall quality of life.
