CBD trial for emotional blindness in HIV patients shows promise
NCT ID NCT05832281
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether cannabidiol (CBD) can help people living with HIV who have alexithymia—a condition that makes it hard to recognize and describe emotions. Participants took either CBD or a placebo for 4 weeks. The goal was to see if CBD improves emotional awareness and reduces inflammation. The study was small (5 participants) and ended early, so results are limited.
