First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving older adults a pill instead of IV sedation before cataract surgery is feasible and safe. Twenty participants aged 65 and older were randomly assigned to receive either a sedative pill or IV sedation. The goal was to see how well their thinking and memory recovered after surgery and to gather data for a larger future study.
