Summary

This study compares two types of artificial lens implants used in cataract surgery. Some patients will get a different lens in each eye, while others will get the same lens in both eyes. The goal is to see which approach gives better vision and causes fewer problems like glare, halos, or starbursts. About 346 adults with cataracts in both eyes will take part, and their vision will be tested three months after surgery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Intraocular lens implants (PanOptix Pro and Clareon Vivity)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors choose the best lens combination for cataract patients to improve vision and reduce side effects like glare or halos.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial comparing two existing lens types, so results may not apply to all patients. Differences in vision outcomes may be small and not clinically meaningful.
