New combo therapy shows promise for tough skin cancer

Summary

This study is for people with Merkel cell carcinoma that has spread or can't be removed by surgery and has gotten worse after initial treatment. It tests whether giving a type of focused radiation (CART) together with the immunotherapy drug avelumab can help control the cancer. The goal is to see if this combination improves how long the cancer stays under control. 18 participants are being treated in this phase 2 trial.
