Carrot juice may keep polyps away in High-Risk patients
NCT ID NCT06335420
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether drinking carrot juice rich in natural compounds called polyacetylenes can stop new polyps from growing in people who have already had large or high-risk polyps removed. Four hundred participants will drink either special carrot juice or a placebo juice daily for one year, then have a colonoscopy to check for new polyps. If successful, it could offer a simple way to reduce colorectal cancer risk.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Carrot juice rich in polyacetylenes (falcarinol and falcarindiol)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple dietary supplement to prevent colorectal polyps from coming back in high-risk patients.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with no phase designation, so results are uncertain. The effect may be small or not work at all, and daily juice consumption for a year requires good adherence.
