Summary

This phase 2 study tested a weekly dose of the drug carfilzomib combined with two standard chemotherapy drugs (melphalan and prednisone) in 32 elderly patients (65 years or older) with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. The goal was to find the safest effective dose and see how well the combination works at controlling the disease. The study is now complete.
