This study compares two common ways to manage pain in children after they leave the hospital following surgery. About 900 kids having their tonsils, gallbladder, or knee scoped will be randomly assigned to receive either NSAIDs plus acetaminophen or low-dose opioids plus NSAIDs and acetaminophen. The goal is to see which option provides better pain relief with fewer side effects.
