Heart attack recovery: could exercise rebuild your heart?
NCT ID NCT07155928
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a 12-week cardiac rehabilitation program—including supervised exercise, education, and lifestyle advice—can improve heart function and quality of life in people who have had a heart attack treated with stenting. One hundred participants will be randomly assigned to either the rehab program or standard care. The main goal is to see if rehab helps the heart's pumping ability and structure recover better.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- cardiac rehabilitation (supervised exercise, education, risk factor modification)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that a structured exercise program helps the heart heal better after a heart attack, reducing the risk of future problems.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 100 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the program requires regular attendance and supervision.
