Summary
This study looks at whether a strong antibiotic called meropenem (a carbapenem) works better than another antibiotic called piperacillin/tazobactam for treating sepsis in burn patients. Sepsis is a life-threatening infection that can happen after severe burns. The study will track survival rates and side effects in 400 adults aged 21-60 admitted to a burn unit. The goal is to find the safest and most effective initial treatment.
