Supercharged immune cells take on pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT07627711

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-phase trial is testing a new type of cell therapy for people with advanced pancreatic cancer that has spread or cannot be removed by surgery. The treatment uses specially engineered natural killer (NK) cells that target two proteins found on cancer cells. Up to 42 participants will receive the cells by IV infusion to see if it is safe and can help control the disease.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Dual-targeting CAR-NK cells (engineered immune cells) targeting MSLN and MUC1 or CLDN18.2 and MUC1
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for advanced pancreatic cancer that is hard to treat with standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 42 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy is experimental and may cause side effects or not shrink tumors.
