Scientists reprogram immune cells to fight heart scarring

NCT ID NCT06902896

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether modified immune cells can help people with severe heart failure. Researchers take patients' own immune cells, engineer them to target scar tissue in the heart, and then return them to the body. The main goal is to check if this approach is safe while also looking for signs it might improve heart function in 9 participants with advanced dilated cardiomyopathy.
