First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study follows 300 women who had immediate breast reconstruction with implants after mastectomy for breast cancer. Researchers want to find out why some women develop capsular contracture, a condition where scar tissue tightens around the implant, causing hardness or pain. Participants will have their results checked six months after surgery using a standard scale to rate how natural the breast looks and feels.
