ICU fungus study aims to uncover resistance secrets

NCT ID NCT07245563

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will look at Candida fungi from 300 patients in a hematology ICU. Researchers want to see how often these fungi form biofilms (slimy layers that protect them) and whether that makes them resistant to antifungal drugs. The goal is to learn which Candida types are most common and what factors lead to harder-to-treat infections.

What this could mean

What this could lead to

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not testing a new treatment. It may not directly change patient care.
