Could shorter treatment be just as good for kids with bloodstream yeast infections?
NCT ID NCT05763251
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares a short course (no extra medicine) versus a standard course (7 more days) of antifungal therapy in children and teens who have already received 7 days of treatment for candidemia, a yeast infection in the blood. About 420 participants will be randomly assigned to either stop or continue treatment to see if the shorter approach works just as well. The goal is to reduce unnecessary medication while still effectively controlling the infection.
