Summary
This study tested a program called CareConnect that uses automated phone calls to help cancer patients stop smoking. 400 cancer patients who smoked took part. The program offered educational messages and direct referrals to quitlines and other resources. The goal was to see if this approach gets more people to use proven smoking cessation services.
