Summary
This study aimed to understand why some people with cancer also develop a condition called immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), which causes dangerously low platelet counts and bleeding risk. Researchers looked back at the medical records of 33 adult patients who had both ITP and cancer diagnosed around the same time. The goal was to see if treating the cancer also helped resolve the ITP, and to learn more about how these two conditions are connected.
