Scientists map how immune cells spot hidden cancer

NCT ID NCT02831634

Summary

This study tested a new method to understand how the body's immune system recognizes cancer cells in lymph nodes. Researchers worked with 25 patients who had breast cancer or melanoma and were scheduled for lymph node surgery. They measured specific immune cells that target cancer mutations to learn how the immune response works in these patients.
