Could cancer patients skip the hospital? study probes home care safety

NCT ID NCT04557709

Summary

This study aimed to gather information to help design future 'hospital at home' programs for cancer patients with fever and low white blood cell counts. Researchers planned to review medical records to see how often these patients had serious complications and what treatments they needed that might be hard to provide at home. The goal was to understand if and how safe, effective home care could be offered instead of a traditional hospital stay.
