Doctors probe blood test flaw that could put kidney patients at risk during chemo

NCT ID NCT07124403

Summary

This study aims to understand if a standard blood test used to determine safe chemotherapy doses works correctly for patients who also have kidney problems. Researchers will measure a specific enzyme activity in the blood cells of about 740 patients with breast or digestive cancers, some of whom have kidney impairment. The goal is to figure out if the test results are misleading for these patients, which could help prevent dangerous side effects from chemotherapy.
