Summary

This study aims to see if how the small intestine absorbs sugar can predict how much weight people lose after bariatric surgery. Researchers will compare obese patients scheduled for surgery with lean individuals. They will also check for gene changes that might affect sugar absorption. The goal is to better understand why some people lose more weight than others after surgery.
