Summary
This study tested whether people with a higher body mass index (BMI) and a higher risk for sleep apnea are more likely to have breathing or heart problems during an endoscopy or colonoscopy. Researchers used two simple questionnaires (STOP-BANG and Epworth Sleepiness Scale) to screen 350 adults before their procedure. The goal was to see if these tools could help predict complications and whether referring high-risk patients to a sleep specialist could improve safety.
