Arm strength after stroke may foretell trunk recovery

NCT ID NCT07174284

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 55 stroke survivors to see if arm function in the first days after stroke can predict trunk (core) recovery weeks later. Researchers measured trunk impairment and arm skills using standard tests. The goal is to find simple early clues that help therapists plan better rehab. No treatment was given—this was purely observational.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help therapists predict trunk recovery early after stroke, guiding better rehabilitation plans.

What could go wrong

This is a small observational study, not a treatment trial. Results may not apply to all stroke survivors, and prediction is not guaranteed.
