Diabetes pill tested to stop disease before it starts

NCT ID NCT05426525

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called empagliflozin, already used to treat type 2 diabetes, can help people with prediabetes. Researchers want to see if taking the drug for 13 weeks improves how the body handles blood sugar in 60 overweight or obese adults. The goal is to understand if this approach could help prevent these at-risk individuals from developing full diabetes.
