NCT ID NCT05029128

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether drinking calcium before exercise helps bones get stronger. During exercise, blood calcium levels drop, and the body pulls calcium from bones to compensate, which might reduce the benefits of exercise for bone health. Researchers tested this idea in 18 Veterans aged 25-45 and 55-75 to see if pre-exercise calcium could prevent that bone loss and improve bone formation.
