Heart pouch showdown: which device best prevents strokes without blood thinners?

NCT ID NCT07260474

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests two medical devices (Amplatzer Amulet and LAmbre) that close a small pouch in the heart to lower stroke risk in people with an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) who are at high risk for bleeding. About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to receive one device. The main goal is to see which device seals the pouch more effectively and safely, helping patients avoid long-term blood thinner medication.
