Simple blood test may spot preeclampsia risk before symptoms appear

NCT ID NCT07467226

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a protein called Cadherin-6 in the blood of pregnant women could help predict preeclampsia, a dangerous condition involving high blood pressure. Researchers measured Cadherin-6 levels in 150 women between 15 and 20 weeks of pregnancy and tracked who later developed preeclampsia. The goal is to find a simple test that identifies at-risk women early, so steps like low-dose aspirin can be started to reduce harm.
