Summary
This early study tests whether a natural protein called C-peptide can help the liver produce more sugar during insulin-induced low blood sugar in people with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will give C-peptide or a placebo to 38 volunteers and measure glucagon levels and liver sugar production. The goal is to understand if C-peptide could one day reduce the risk of severe hypoglycemia.
