Ancient herbal recipe could save diabetic limbs

NCT ID NCT07658807

First seen Jun 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026

Summary

This phase 3 trial tests whether adding a traditional Chinese herbal formula (Hua Yu Wan Capsule) to standard treatment can prevent painful leg pain at rest or foot ulcers in people with diabetes and early-to-moderate leg artery disease. About 300 adults aged 18–70 will be randomly assigned to receive either the herbal capsule plus standard care (aspirin, blood sugar, and cholesterol meds) or standard care alone for 6 months. The main goal is to see if the combination lowers the chance of developing these serious complications over one year.
