Could broccoli compound slow Parkinson's and MS? new trial launches
NCT ID NCT07360977
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a supplement made from a broccoli compound (bioactivated GRA) in 300 people with Parkinson's disease, relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, or certain childhood nerve diseases. Participants will take the supplement daily for 6 months. Researchers will track changes in movement, thinking, brain scans, and quality of life to see if the compound can protect nerves and slow disease progression.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
bioactivated glucoraphanin (GRA) from broccoli
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple dietary supplement that helps slow nerve damage and improve quality of life in Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, and similar conditions.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with no placebo group, so results may be due to natural variation. The supplement is not a cure, and benefits may be small or absent.
