First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This phase II trial tested a combination of the targeted drug brentuximab vedotin with standard chemotherapy (AVD) in 49 older adults with untreated Hodgkin lymphoma. What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
brentuximab vedotin (a targeted antibody-drug) plus doxorubicin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine (chemotherapy)
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a more effective treatment option for older adults with Hodgkin lymphoma, potentially leading to higher remission rates.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 49 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The combination may cause side effects like nerve damage or low blood counts.
