Breathe easy: simple technique may help claustrophobic patients complete MRI scans
NCT ID NCT07309328
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether a guided breathing exercise called cardiac coherence can help people who are afraid of enclosed spaces complete an MRI scan without stopping early. About 220 patients aged 7 and older who report claustrophobia will be randomly assigned to either the breathing exercise or standard care (cartoons or music). The main goal is to see if the breathing technique leads to more usable MRI images.
