Breathe easy: simple technique may help claustrophobic patients complete MRI scans

NCT ID NCT07309328

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a guided breathing exercise called cardiac coherence can help people with claustrophobia complete an MRI scan with better image quality. About 220 patients aged 7 and older will be randomly assigned to either the breathing exercise or standard care (cartoons or music). The main goal is to see if the breathing technique leads to more usable MRI images.
