Hormone therapy before surgery may reduce cancer left behind in breast cancer patients

Summary
This study looks at whether giving hormone therapy before surgery helps women with a certain type of breast cancer (invasive lobular carcinoma) have cleaner surgical results. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the chance of cancer cells being found at the edges of removed tissue. About 176 postmenopausal women with stage 2-3, hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer will receive the therapy before their breast-conserving surgery.
