Can women with tiny breast tumors skip armpit surgery?
NCT ID NCT00210236
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at menopausal women over 50 with very small breast cancers (less than 10 mm). It compared standard surgery plus armpit lymph node removal versus surgery alone. The goal was to see if skipping lymph node removal could reduce side effects without affecting survival. The study was stopped early, but results help guide less invasive treatment.
