Could tailored mammograms reduce unnecessary scans?
NCT ID NCT06060938
First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares personalized mammography screening based on individual risk factors (like genetics and lifestyle) to the standard every-two-years approach. About 2200 women aged 50-67 will be randomly assigned to either continue standard screening or receive a risk assessment that determines if they need mammograms every 1-4 years. The goal is to see if low-risk women accept longer intervals between screenings, and to measure any anxiety or quality-of-life changes.
