Breathing technique aims to shield hearts from radiation damage
NCT ID NCT07299812
Summary
This study is testing a special breathing technique to protect the heart during radiation treatment for breast cancer. It involves holding a deep breath while radiation is delivered, which moves the heart slightly away from the treatment area. Researchers are observing 400 patients to measure how much this technique reduces radiation exposure to the heart and to check for any side effects.
