Shorter radiation course tested to reduce arm swelling in breast cancer
NCT ID NCT02912312
Summary
This study is testing whether a shorter, 3-week radiation schedule is as effective as the standard 5-week schedule for preventing breast cancer from returning in the lymph nodes. It will also closely compare side effects, especially arm swelling (lymphedema), between the two groups. The trial involves over 800 patients who have had surgery for early-stage invasive breast cancer.
